The Captains - The Lightning Fang, Light

Hello everyone and welcome back to the Realm. As promised, I am finally doing the profiles for the Second, Third, and Fourth Captains. I'll probably follow up with Durga and Yuna after this, but be advised, when I start Poseidon's and Hook's profiles...it will be very long and probably split up into multiple segments because they have a very long history and a lot of important events either happen to them or around them. As for Light, he's a bit more complex than you might think, but before I launch into full character analysis mode... Introduction Time!

Second Captain of the Blood Guard, Commander of the Assault Corps, The Lightning Fang. He is Light of the Prism Guard and he is her light in the darkness.

Sorry about the eyes. It's hard getting the right shade with the right effect with the right vibrancy. I'm working on finding another program, may have to buy it. Now then, first thing first. In regards to his purpose, her light in the darkness, he actually misinterprets the true meaning which is her hope in the midst of despair. At the start of Stardust, he's actually one of the youngest and newest members of the Guard which begs the question of how he became the Second Captain and the commander of the Assault Corps, not to mention that he was partnered with Poseidon/Hook instead of receiving an opposites mentor which would have been earth not water.

To truly understand just who Light is and how significant he is, you need to go and reread or read the profile for the Second Mage, Mars. *waits a while before beginning to type again* In Mars's profile, the Fourth Captain shares a time when Poseidon's brother, Liam, was still alive and tells her about his death. During this trip down memory lane, we get a brief period where we are seeing things through Liam's perspective instead of Mars or Poseidon because this allowed us to have a meeting of two individuals, both Children of the Sky, more commonly referred to as lightning elementals. These two are Liam and Light and the elder Jones senses something very familiar about the man that had journeyed back through time to help him.

Now this is very important because both of them are lightning elementals and both have strong emotional ties to the younger Jones. Look, I'm known for plot twists and out of nowhere curveballs that make people go what the fuck all the time. So if you haven't worked it out by now then you're probably not going to until I write the actual book. Here's a quote from Gin's profile, one final hint before I drop a bombshell.

'Lightning, it flashes bright then fades away. It can't protect, it only destroys. The sea makes for a much better shield than I could ever be. Find her...find our star...she shines only for you now.'

The Second Captain and the elder Jones are one and the same. Specifically, Light is the reincarnation of Poseidon's elder brother that had died from Dreamshade poisoning so that his baby brother wouldn't have to watch him die a very slow and lingering death, possibly killing him if his powers erupted before he passed on. For the most part, Light is completely oblivious to this fact as is Poseidon. Hook on the other hand has managed to work it out and has no clue about how tell the brat. Not exactly something you can say over a morning coffee ya know.

Moving right along, when Liam Jones was reincarnated, he became Jack Zimmerman and the future great uncle to William and Anna Zimmerman, the two dominant characters of Stardust thus far. Now unlike his previous life, Jack's powers as an elemental were dormant so he was completely unaware that he had them at all. Life goes on like normal and then the second World War began. Jack enlisted in the Army, worked his way through the ranks until he was given command of his company of men and bearing the title of Captain.

He was given orders that sent him and his men behind enemy lines. This is where things get interesting for Captain Jack Zimmerman. How you may ask? *points below*

That's right, everyone. He bumps into Doctor Helen Magnus and member of The Five. In the Sanctuary verse, this actually happened and in the Blood Guard verse, things start to deviate a bit and then change drastically at the end, but before I dive into the alterations, allow me to give you a hopefully brief summary of the events occurring in this particular episode of the Sanctuary series.

The events of D-Day are beginning to unfold and Magnus, along with Watson and Griffin, have made their way to Normandy, France. Why because information about a weather machine that had been built by Watson had fallen into enemy hands and the Nazis were going to use it on the invading Americans. As per the usual, things don't go according to plan and Watson is captured, Magnus is hiding in the woods and Griffin is invisible in a barn. Enemy soldiers begin to search the barn but are gunned down by American soldiers. These soldiers were members of the Foxtrot Company, 101st Airborne division and their commanding officer is one Captain Jack Zimmerman.

Now poor Griffin does his best to persuade the obstinate captain to help him and his friends in his mission, but he refuses because he and his company had orders to clear out Utah Beach which was in the opposite direction. Now this is where things begin to deviate. No matter what Nigel Griffin said, Jack Zimmerman would not go against his orders and put his men at risk for a seemingly suicidal mission that pushed them deeper into enemy territory. A few minutes later, a redhead comes barreling into the barn and falls into the Captain's arms. When their eyes met, something inside him screamed to protect her, almost like he had met and befriended her before. He hadn't believed in love at first sight until now because the only way he could describe the intense and powerful emotion exploding from his heart for the woman before him...love.

Griffin informed the Star Child that they were on their own because the captain refused to help, making the Captain realize that she was part of this insane mission...but did he dare go against his orders for a woman he had just met? Fortunately, Artz had already had plenty of time to become proficient in her ability to slow down time to almost a stand still. It was a gamble because it would drain her but she dragged the Captain to a more secluded area, activating her power, and pretty much seduced the guy...it didn't take much because he was practically obsessed with her.

That and he couldn't seem to keep his hands off her. Everything about her called to him and he simply couldn't restrain himself. He had not been gentle in the slightest, but the longer he was with her, the more certain he became. He knew that she was different, gifted with an extraordinary talent, but there was no way he could let her walk straight into enemy territory without him by her side. After about seventy six hours inside her temporal bubble and all the accompanying cardiovascular workouts during that time, she allowed them to synchronize back with normal time.

Barely a minute has passed in real time and Griffin was giving her a rather disapproving look when he noticed how pale she was, but didn't have a chance to say anything because Captain Zimmerman volunteered to assist them in their mission. This radical shift raised a few eyebrows with his men but they were smart enough to keep their mouths shut and follow the orders of their captain. During this time, Druitt attempts to help Watson escape but is soon informed that the base was surrounded in Loadstone to keep him from teleporting. Magnus had attempted her own rescue attempt and was caught.

Three of the Five were informed that Druitt did indeed kill Hitler and that the High Command had taken control of the Reich by using doubles for their slain leader. Artz and company made their way to the secret base while their friends were being tortured by Colonel Kobra, the leader of the SS Abnormal Hunting Division and that he intended to use the weather machine in combination with a fire elemental. The Colonel left after being informed that the invasionary planes were coming and left to put his plan into effect. The Americans arrived shortly after and succeeded in rescuing Magnus and Watson, but Druitt had been shot and taken away earlier.

Magnus was rather shocked to see Captain Zimmerman, having met the man's future self many times during the past. One look at his eyes and she realized that this was the very beginning for him, but she couldn't help the slight smile that appeared on her face as she watched his interactions with the kind hearted ginger. Once again, Artz had worked her magic, a running joke at this point, because she honestly believed that people were becoming more susceptible to the redhead's power and aura. She really wouldn't be surprised at all, but she was brought back to reality as they neared the heavily guarded outpost where the weather machine and fire elemental were located.

Artz took point and the three members of the Five all groaned and face palmed at the same time.

In typical Artz fashion, the redhead pulled off an eleventh Doctor and literally became the center of attention. Jack almost flipped his shit because the girl he was already in love with had literally placed herself in the direct line of fire. He tried to go out there to retrieve the crazy ginger, but Magnus and Watson held him back saying that he did not want to be anywhere near her at the moment. When he asked why, they said wait for it. Blue electricity sparked into existence around the cackling redhead.

'Need a light.'

They groaned again and Jack figured that this sort of thing happened on a regular basis, especially since they weren't worried about it and acted like they had been subjected to such events many times over. So his baby doll had more special talents that he didn't know about , eh? His attention was drawn back to the still cackling ginger as she started throwing her hands out randomly, electricity flying in that general direction. Seeing as how long range combat was no good, the enemy soldiers rushed her.

She gave them a devilish smirk, the blue electricity rippling along her curvy form. She was absolutely gorgeous to him right now. He really needed his head examined because he was getting way too turned on by her electrifying display. He watched as she danced and twirled around the soldiers like they were standing still and then she snapped her fingers and they all went flying via bolts of lightning. What the hell has he gotten himself into and why couldn't he make his rather painful erection to go away? Did he actually care anymore...yes because he desperately wanted to pin her to the nearest tree and relieve himself of his rather painful problem...audience be damned.

Having cleared the way, the three members of the Five made their way inside along with Artz and she told them to open the chamber containing the fire elemental. She was crazy but they had long since given up questioning her by now so they did as they were told. The Star Child jumped into the flames and a few moments later, the flames went out to reveal the ginger holding, two small children with silver white hair, Kagari and her twin, Homura. Both children were members of the Order of the Birds and had been kidnapped while Tsukimi and her husband, Silver, had been preparing to return to the Realm shortly after they had received the news that the second world war was about to begin. She handed the children off to Nigel and rushed outside to discover that Captain Jack Zimmerman had died from multiple gun shot wounds.

The sergeant tried to offer condolences but was confused when she handed him the Captain's dog tags, a blue spark transferring into them, before bringing his body into her arms, repeating the same words she used when she saved a life with her temporal power. Her light was sputtering in and out, her earlier actions catching up to her. She decided to combine her power with the ability to control electricity, making it nearly impossible for her to ever wield lightning again, but it had the desired result and it restored life to the man in her arms, but with that life came an alteration. The man's eyes, once a hazel green, were now an electric blue that seemed to shine with a sparking electrical current and he was looking at her like she was his world which to be fair, she kinda was by this point. Then they and the fire bird twins vanished in a flash of light, leaving the company of many in a state of confusion. Magnus suggested that their Captain's revival should remain a secret and the company swore to take it to their graves.

Captain Jack Zimmerman was reported as KIA, but his body mysteriously vanished while in transport back to the United States. The wooden crate that once contained his simple wooden coffin was open and on the interior of the coffin was an odd circular symbol seemingly scorched into the wood.

It would be many decades before anyone would be able to translate the seemingly alien language and who was this person, one William Liam Zimmerman, the great nephew of the very man that was pretty much his genetic duplicate. The question I pose to you is this...Do you know what it says?

Artz: And...*holds a clapboard* CUT!!! That's a wrap, people!

Yuna: Are you seriously going to end it there because there is a whole hell of a lot more that needs to be posted in this article...like all the stuff in our texting thread for example.

Poseidon: That's kinda the point, love.

Hook: She has to go and find it first.

Artz: *blushes in embarrassment and looks away sheepishly*

Light: I'm fine with that. Besides, she practically has your shit pretty much memorized. Why because she spent seven months trying to figure out what to do with Poseidon and how Hook tied into it all. She nearly ripped her hair out so many times.

Poseidon/Hook/Artz/Yuna: *deadpans* Worth it.

Light: *shakes his head at them and walks away* Unbelievable, strike that, definitely believable.
